The Green Math Classes of SCMS are to be congratulated for their hard work and providing us with some great geometric ideas to ponder.  A sample of some of the projects are shown below.
Resize these Rectangle Elements by clicking on them and then dragging on the corner to create the shape you want.

Look at the garage and then explain how a square is a rectangle but a rectangle is not necessarily square.
Then check out Cody's stained glass building and explain how many faces were constructed.  Can you identify the types of triangles in the roof?
Amy's arc was made of many pieces, If each piece was bought at $.25, estimate the total cost of her building.

As you scroll through
the project photos, see if you can answer the questions posed about each.

What shapes are shown on the triangular building under the table.

Can you find the great angles on the barn door? Duplicate then explain which would be supplementary (=180*)
What polygon is shown in Deni's Art Emporium?  Too bad we can't see the great art inside.
Compare the four buildings below.  Which would have the largest area? Justify your answer. What shapes  do you see in Popp's Greenhouse?  How much (fraction) of a pizza would Mike's sign's be?
Do you see a diameter in Pat's CD house? Estimate the circumference in mm.
Look at Travis's dormers on his roof. What type of angles do you see?
On Anthony's dinosaur museum which window would have the largest area, why?
Describe the many shapes in Alexandra's Sleep Inn
The last three constructions are both alike and different , explain.
Be sure to use mathematical terms so anyone would know which building is which.
Watch to see if yours will appear as the site is updated.
